On the International Day of Women Human Rights Defenders, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman delivered a stark warning about the erosion of democracy and the escalating repression of women activists worldwide. Speaking at a webinar titled “Defending Democracy and the Rule of Law in Times of Global Instability” hosted by the EDVAW Platform, Karman described the day as “a call to action, a reminder, and a moral duty.”
