Tawakkol Karman Foundation has concluded its annual Jusoor program for 2025, which focused on supporting and empowering youth-led initiatives and strengthening the role of Arab youth in media, innovation, and the arts. The program unfolded through a series of high-impact activities implemented across Türkiye throughout 2025, in collaboration with Yemeni student unions.
As part of Jusoor 2025, the foundation sponsored and supervised the Vision 4.0 Forum, organized by Yemeni Students’ Unions in Türkiye—Kocaeli and Sakarya branches—from 30 September to 2 October 2025. The forum brought together more than 80 young men and women from Yemen and several Arab countries, including Syria, Egypt, Palestine, and Morocco.
The forum featured more than 10 training sessions and workshops over three days, in addition to presentation of eight innovative projects in artificial intelligence and community development under supervision of specialized experts. Participant satisfaction reached 95 percent, according to evaluation forms.
The program also included sponsorship and supervision of the fourth season of Idrak Short Film Festival, organized by Union of Yemeni Students in Istanbul, and attended by hundreds from Yemeni and Arab communities.
Competitors from several Arab countries—including Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, and Egypt—took part in the festival. A total of 18 short films competed, with eight selected for screening by the jury. Three films won top awards, in addition to one film receiving Audience Choice Award.
First place was awarded to Mashwar, followed by Water in second place and The Lost Dream in third, while In the Name of the Cause won the audience award.
Within framework of Jusoor 2025, Biban Youth Media Forum 2025 also concluded in Istanbul. The forum was organized by General Union of Yemeni Students in Türkiye under sponsorship and supervision of Tawakkol Karman Foundation, with wide participation from journalists and media students.
The forum featured a training program held from 28 to 30 November 2025, comprising six specialized sessions in digital media, content creation, media dialogue, social responsibility, and design of youth media initiatives. The sessions were delivered by a group of academics and media professionals. A Biban Media Competition was launched in parallel across three creative tracks, aimed at discovering and refining young media talents.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation affirmed that Jusoor 2025 reflects its vision of empowering youth by providing them with knowledge tools, practical skills, and platforms that enable them to express their ideas and contribute meaningfully to development of their communities—strengthening values of creativity, responsibility, and collective action.
The Jusoor program seeks to enhance participation of Yemeni and Arab youth in development, democracy, and peacebuilding processes; support and strengthen activities of Yemeni students studying in Türkiye; energize cultural and intellectual life within student communities; introduce the foundation and its mission among Yemeni students; and build an interactive network of young people who share the foundation’s values and objectives.
Targeted project areas under the program include cultural, intellectual, and knowledge-based activities; initiatives that raise awareness of rights and democratic values; programs that promote dialogue and peacebuilding; and specialized training courses and capacity-building programs.
It is worth noting that Jusoor 2024 supported several projects benefiting hundreds of students enrolled in Turkish universities from Yemen and various Arab countries, generating wide and positive resonance among student communities and Arab diasporas in Türkiye.
